I am seeing this more and more, starting to think I need to move brokers....

Try logging out of your phone, that may be interfering.
As I say, I was only logged in to web, I find the desktop app fairly horrible and the phone app is just so cluttered it's barely usable.
So I only ever use the web version..
This tells me all I need to know about you and your perspective/skillset. Feel free to go back to Robinhood lol
And that has what exactly to do with use of an interface that this company offers?
FYI I don't live in the United States of Arrogance so don't and indeed CANNOT use RobinHood.
I do however use Saxo, IG, etoro, Binance and IBKR and have an application pending for Tasty Works. I only installed the IBKR app this because the web interface is so buggy and I hoped it would be better. However I was wrong!
The ONLY reason I am putting up with this crap at all is because there are hardly any ways of trading options from the UK.
As soon as my application for an international Tasty Works account is approved I will be out of here.
In the meantime you can take your ill informed assumption and shove it my friend!!
Lol...whatever you gotta tell yourself. Plenty of people get along just fine with the Phone and desktop apps.
They may do, this post is about neither, but rather than add to the conversation, offer a suggestion, point to a possible solution, or offer anything meaningful at all you chose to write a pointless and offensive personal insult.
This tells me all I need to know about you as a human being!
Good day sir!
What do you think will come of a conversation where you're complaining on reddit? Nothing will come of it. Contact customer support.
Try refreshing the page, it may take 1 or 2 refreshes. I'm almost exclusively logged into web trader also and have this come up time to time. Initially, I'd log out and log in again the "proper way" (ie. username + password) but later realised that I could just refresh when this pops up and somehow they'll manage to reconnect.
That works when the charts don't refresh, which is another thing I come across on almost an hourly basis and have another post about it :(
But nope that isn't it in this case, I tried ctrl-f5 multiple times, I also tried Edge, Chrome and Firefox browsers, logging out properly from each one and in again with 2FA each time, no matter which one I logged in to I didn't not have access to my account for well over an hour..
This happens regularly over the weekend which I don't mind so much about but when it affects mid-week trading it simply isn't acceptable...
logging to the website always does this, log you in without trading permissions. Why? Because IB only supports being logged in to trade from one device, and probably people normally get to the website from the desktop app to check out something (like run a report) and do not want to be kicked out from the desktop.
So next you click that button to login with trading permission and it takes a few seconds.
It's frustrating, but that website trading is pretty janky and not what most people use and really you shouldn't be using it either because it's not what that company is good at.
Trading from the web is no why we use IB.
As I mentioned, I don't use the mobile app or the desktop app, just my laptop with the web interface so this is nothing to do with multiple devices.
So with that in mind, it doesn't take a few seconds for the trade log in to work, I wrote this post because it was doing it for over an hour, two weekends ago it did it for an entire day, I was unable to log in on a Saturday with trading rights at all because of this same issue.
This happens multiple times a week..
the website commonly logs people out, or time out on the 2FA authentication, there are many posts about it here. I am not blaming you being logged in elsewhere, I am saying the website is unreliable all on its own.
Yea, that's kinda the point of my post, yet another reason it is not fit for purpose..
They really do intend for you to use TWS primarily. The other stuff is just for when it’s inconvenient to do so. I think you can get a second logon if you want to be in two places at once.
Don't want to be in two places at once. And I use my work laptop which I am not allowed to install third party software on anyway so it's either web or mobile unfortunately..
I've been seeing this more often as well, it's frustrating. However, in Canada the alternatives are not great, so for now I will stay with this brokerage
